About China Stix
Located at 3141 W Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77025, China Stix operates as a chinese restaurant serving Houston in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under fast food restaurant, delivery restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Houston; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Texas are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 11 amโ9:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (713) 218-8100. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is chinastix-houston.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 743 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Houston is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My mom sent a video of this place and said it looked good. I decided to try it and was very disappointed! First, of all I had to drive pretty far to get it and in traffic! Presentation was perfect! I ordered house fried rice and a build your own plate. Rice was bland it needed vegetables...peas and carrots or something! It had more rice than anything, it was suppose to have pork, chicken, and shrimp. The meat was soooo small and there were about 6 small shrimp in the bowl. The plate consisted of shrimp lo-mein, general tso chicken, and beef and broccoli. The beef and broccoli was okay. There was like 6 chunks of general chicken...it lacked the taste and spice of what I'm use to. I did not like the texture or taste of the lo-mein. Im definitely not driving back to Rice Village for this.

Ordered Ubereats from here today and I canโt lie this may be my new favorite Chinese spot! Got the bowl with chicken lo mein. Noodles were perfectly cooked and the flavor was on point. I also got the pepper steak which was tender and flavorful. Finally the star of the show was the General Tso Shrimp. The shrimp were deep fried crispy and the sauce was rich with sweet and savory flavors. 10/10. Might order it again for dinner lol.

I am from the Midwest this style of Chinese food was a bit different from my taste. I elect for you to try it yourself to come up with your own opinion now the customer service and the manager Jr. was impeccable. He seen the dissatisfaction on me and my family faces and did everything in his power to make it right and again the food wasnโt nasty. It just was not for us. I encourage you to try for yourself, because Food will always be a matter of opinion.

China Stix absolutely lived up to the hype. I drove all the way from Dallas to Houston just to try their St. Louis chicken fried rice, and it was worth every mile. The dish was outstanding. Perfectly seasoned, packed with flavor and made with clearly high-quality ingredients. The chicken was tender, the rice had the ideal texture, and everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. What really stood out beyond the food was the staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive and genuinely helpful. Which made the experience even better. You can tell they take pride in both their service and their food. Another big plus: the portion size was spot on. Generous without being overwhelming, making it satisfying without feeling excessive. Overall, an amazing experience. Iโd absolutely make the trip again.

Me and my daughter wanted to try out this restaurant and I felt the vibes in this establishment. It was very clean on the inside. You get great portion size. The food came out VERY FAST!!! The rice made me feel like I was back home in STL(minus the vegetables). Everything was seasoned and cooked well. Weโll definitely add this to one of our favorite restaurants!!!
